Story  : As continuation of the first part, Baahubali(Prabhas) will be declared as the king of Mahishmati. As part of the kingdom’s ancestral ritual, the Baahubali thinks to visit the countryside to know what problems the people in his kingdom are facing. In this process, Baahubali visits a small kingdom called Kuntala and falls in love with its princess Devasena (Anushka). He woos Devasena with his charm and brings her to Mahishmati.  Bhallaladeva loves Devasena and aska Sivagami to get him married to Devasena but Devasena rejects Sivagami words and marrys Baahubali.  So Sivagami(Ramya Krishna) changes her decision suddenly and announces Bhallala Deva(Rana) as the king .  Finally Bhallaladeva creates Baahubali as wrong person in the mind of Sivagami  and provokes her to order Kattapa to kill Baahubali.  Does Kattapa really killed Baahubali? What is the back story behind her decision?  To know answers to these questions, you need to watch the film on the big screen.

Performances :  Just as the first part, Prabhas performed in a terrific way in his dual role and is the apt choice as both Mahendra Baahubali and Amarendra Baahubali. No one except him could have done justice to the role which is larger than life and has many heroic moments. His sheer screen presence and emotional performance as Amarendra Baahubali will be immensely loved by his fans. Rana, as usual, gave tough competition to Prabhas.  Tamanna has limited role in this movie as Avantika and plays her part well. Anushka once again made audience to spellbound with her acting.  Ramya Krishna is elegant as Sivagami and brings a lot of depth to the film. She could be said as major asset of this movie. Nasser and Sathyaraj played their roles perfectly same as part one.  In Fact they acted more effectively in this part more than the first part. Prabhakar acted well in his role.

Analysis: As you start watching Baahubali series, one thing that hits you instantly is the scale of this magnum opus. The extravagant sets, spectacular visuals and the sheer magnitude has not been showcased in any Indian film before. One cannot shy away to laud Rajamouli for thinking something this huge and also executing it on such a mammoth scale.  It is quite surprising to see the amount of detailing that has gone into every aspect of this film.  There are many scenes in the film which will just leave you spellbound.

Though storyline of Baahubali is quite routine and predictable,  Rajamouli narrated it in an excellent way.  Certain war sequences have been dragged out and could have been trimmed to decrease the runtime. But each and every frame in the film is sheer magic.

The sets, VFX work and graphics are just out of this world. One should be really proud to see such grand visuals, especially in a Telugu film. Music and background music are top notch. Dandalayya Song is more than super on the screen. Sabu Cyril,  art director,  has done a marvelous job with the sets. Be it the palace sets, the kingdom urroundings or the warfare equipment, everything looks impressive. Senthil Kumar’s camera work is mind-blowing. His awesome visuals are nicely complimented by the stunning VFX.  Even though Rajamouli’s screenplay dips a bit here and there, his larger than life approach is what makes this film such a visual treat.

Plus points :

Interval scene,

Prabhas –  Anushka scenes,

Ramyakrishna acting,

direction,

Visual wonders.

Minus points :

Length of the movie.

Verdict : Touted as one of the most expensive film,  the movie makes us spell bound with outstanding technical glitz, great characterizations, amazing sets, and adrenaline-rushing action sequences. On the whole, Baahubali is one film which every Indian movie lover can be extremely proud off. Right from the word go, the movie treats you with some never before seen elements in Indian films. Prabhas’s stunning performance as Baahubali and an excellent cast of the movie with genius director Rajamouli narration is bound to entertain you big time.

Final word: Evergreen movie of Tollywood that would be clearly remembered as a classic in the coming years.
