Story :  Om Namo Venkatesaya is the biopic of ‘Hathiram Bhavaji’, a North Indian Saint who visited South India in 1500 CE. In his expeditions around the world to find peace, he visits ‘Tirumala’ and becomes an ardent devotee of Lord Venkateswara. Impressed by his utmost devotion, Lord Venkateswara used to come to play dice with Hathiram daily in his temple. One Day, Lord Venkateswara gets late playing dice and leaves in a hurry leaving his ornament behind which also gets missed on his statue. The trustees of the temple doubt it on Hathiram Bhavaji and take him to King’s court. The King in returns gives a punishment and Hathiram is faced with the danger of death. What happens next?  forms the rest of the story.

Performances : Nagarjuna is perhaps the most luckiest hero among other tollywood heros for getting such roles like Annamayya, Sri Ramadasu and now the role of Hathiram. He did extremely well in his role. His histrionics in the last reel were extraordinary. His pure eyes, calmness in face and authentic body language makes us all fall in love with his character. For sure, Nagarjuna will get awards for his exceptional work. Anushka acted in the vital role and gave out her best. Pragya Jaiswal is fabulous as wife of Nagarjuna. Saurabh Raj Jain excelled in the role of god and made audience to feel he is nothing less than perfect in the role. He gave seamless performance. SPB’s dubbing for his role is another highlight for the film.  Jagapathi babu acted in one of the most important roles in this film and is appropriate in the role. The remaining cast performed well in their respective roles as required.

plus points :

Nagarjuna Acting,

minus points :

Few dragging scenes.

Analysis : Total credit must go to  K Raghavendra Rao for recreating his magic by another devotional movie as director. He with this film,  once again proved,  why he is called a legendary commercial director in Tollywood. He narrated the entire film in a simple way by giving more importance to the emotions than the grandeur. He made sure that the emotions graph goes up as the film progresses by capturing the attention of audiences. He used pretty good emotion blend with devotion scenes in the last half an hour of the film. Songs and rerecording by MM Keeravani is the biggest asset of the movie. All songs are neatly blended into the storyline.  Keeravani’s background music for the movie is another fine example for how good music increases the emotional depth of the film. The last three songs take the film into different level.Cinematography is very good. Script and dialogues by JK Bharavi are major plus points of the movie. The dialogues are very meaningful and appropriate.  Editing is fine. Artwork  is good. Producer should be appreciated for coming forward to make such a different film. Production values are top notch.

Verdict : Nagarjuna deserves a hearty applause for having the courage to take up this type of roles and he has managed to pull it off with conviction. As this type of movies comes as rare diamonds in tollywood,  we could not pick more minus points from them.

Final Word : Watch the film without any expectations and immerse yourself in spirituality.

RATING : 3.5/5
