Guru Movie Review
Performances :

A Telugu hero playing his age. Dignified and flamboyant at the same time. Venkatesh plays a frustrated boxing coach with such a conviction that, you feel one with the character. He sported a unique look in the film and gave out his best both in looks and acting. Venkatesh performed very well with intensity in eyes. He is at his usual best and did well in the emotional scenes. He could be said as major asset for the movie. And new girl Ritika Singh in her debut film gives a stellar performance.Ritika Singh has got an excellent opportunity in the film, and it is a successful debut for her. Ritika Singh has shown variations in her role perfectly and impressed all. Her acting as slum girl in first half and as an professional boxer in second half surely makes audience to get attracted for her. As she did Same role in Hindi & Malayalam she make us also spellbound with her performance . Other actors like Nasser, Bharani, Raghu Babu are good in their limited roles. Mumtaj is impressive as a sister in the film.

Analysis :

Guru could be said as one of  the best motivational movies that came in telugu with awesome content. Ritika and Venky lived the characters and they added much value to the movie. Narration of director is gripping throughout the movie and engages audience for 2 and half hours. This movie shows Venkatesh passion towards cinema is not decreased. But on flip side,  Music could have been little better. But we cannot say it as minus as we cannot expect chartbusters from this kind of subjects. Background is major asset for the movie. Though the movie is of remake,  little changes has been made in a smart manner with the name of entertainment and had planned the script perfectly well. The writing is exceptional in the movie. The dialogues are top notch in the film. The emotional content of the film is a major highlight. All the emotions have fallen in the place in the right manner. The characterisations are interesting, and for every character, there is a realistic touch. The interval bang and climax sequences have come out well in the film. There are so many inspirational moments in this movie. Production values are good.  Editing is perfect.

A slum girl from Vizag turning a boxing champion is an inspirational story. Sudha Kongara turns the film into an emotional journey.  Film is slow in its take off. But once it’s on it touches hearts streight.

Verdict : Though we have seen the original Saala Khadoos in Hindi, we would like the telugu version better. Venkatesh fits the role of the boxing coach perfect. Ritika Singh is amazing as an underdog boxer from the slums of Vizag. Both are a feast to watch with their perfect pitching of their characters.

Final word: It’s a brilliant film. A must watch. Our own DANGAL. Its inspirational and uplifting.
